Round 7 Grant Recipient
“To be able to bring disabled children out in the water now is quiet special”
Simon Stanton from Customer Platforms nominated Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club
Swim little seahorse, swim.
Children with a disability can finally enjoy their local beach with confidence, thanks to Simon Stanton from Customer Platforms nominating Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club for a Brighter Futures Grant in Round 7.
With Simon’s support, Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club established a Seahorse program to enable disabled children to join their siblings and friends in the ocean, build their confidence, and learn important life skills.
The equipment purchased with the grant will be used to run the Seahorse program twice a year, catering for children with a disability aged 6 to 14 years.
Being a patrol guard and life saver, Simon has already witnessed the profound impact of the program.
“It’s disappointing when you see children on the beach with a disability who aren’t able to participate. To be able to bring those children out in the water now is quiet special,” said Simon.
