Suncorp Group employee, Sanooj Ayyath has a very personal reason to get involved in the annual Suncorp Bush Trail Challenge each year.

As a heart attack survivor, Sanooj is proud to volunteer at the event, which has raised over $40,000 for the Heart Foundation since its inception in 2014, with the help of Brighter Futures Dollar Matching.

The Bush Trail Challenge, which this year will be held on Saturday, 9 April, is a 30km walk/run through Aussie bushland in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for teams of Suncorp staff and their families and friends.

Started by passionate employees Doug Belford and June Goh, the event has grown to include participants and volunteers from across the Suncorp Group.

Sanooj said he jumped at the opportunity to give back to the organisation that has supported him through his health challenges.

“The Heart Foundation has played a pivotal role in my rehabilitation, and I am delighted that I have the opportunity to contribute by volunteering for this bush challenge for the third year, he said.
