This year, Mental Health Week is 9-15 October.

Through Brighter Futures partnership with ReachOut, we understand the impact mental illness is having in our community and the importance of promoting mental wellbeing to all Australians, especially young people and their families. ReachOut is Australia's leading online mental health organisation for young people and their families, providing practical support to help them get through anything from everyday issues to tough times.

During Mental Health Week, Brighter Futures will share positive tips and practical tools from ReachOut so make sure you sign up to our e-newsletter, follow us on Facebook and join our Yammer group.

In the meantime, why not spend some time on your mental health by following ReachOut’s wellness program, the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. The program has been designed to inspire, engage and motivate you. It enables you to make positive behavioural changes to improve your mental health both in and out of the workplace.

The 5 Ways to Wellbeing is comprised of connecting; being active; taking notice; continuous learning; and giving. ReachOut belief that committing to the 5 Ways to Wellbeing as a daily practice for as few as 30 minutes for 21 days will have a significant and lasting impact on your wellbeing. So what are you waiting for?

To learn more about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing check out ReachOut’s booklet. Or if you prefer, you can listen to Judith Parke from ReachOut talk about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing in this video.
